Suite 550, Lockbox 52 12750 Merit Drive Dallas TX 75251 Dear Mr. Reagan: re: IBM Call Center The Coppell Zoning Ordinance stipulates that, with only two exceptions, a parking space shall be a minimum of 9 feet in width and a minimum of 19 feet in length. The two exceptions relate to conditions where the fi.om of a car may overhang the pavement provided, either over a sidewalk or over low landscaping. To accomplish what you suggest in your letter dated December 17, 1997, the appropriate means is to request a special exception from the Board of Adjustment. City Counc'fl has authorized the Board of Adjustment to waive or reduce parking and loading requirements when the use of a building is such as to make unnecessary the full provision of parking or loading facilities (in this case, relative to size of spaces, not number). Whether or not the Board would see fit to reduce the requirements remains to be seen. However, the property owner may request the special exception by contacting the Building Inspection Department.
