Re: Food Lion Final Plat and Engineering
Dear Gary:
It is my understanding that the referenced final plat is on the agenda for
consideration by the City Council this evening. I am writing this letter to notify you
that our ownership, which is the adjacent land owner which sold the subject site to
Food Lion, has no objection to the approval of the final plat per se, but is of the
opinion that it is premature for the final engineering plans to be approved in their
present form. Therefore we would request that the plat approval be subject to later
finalization and approval of the final engineering plans.
The engineering plans which have to date been submitted to the city still do not
correctly reflect all of the requirements set forth in various development
agreements between the developer for Food Lion and our ownership as to the proper
co-ordination of the development of the overall Sandy Lake/Samuel comer. We have
been trying to get the plans corrected, but a revised set which was delivered to me
yesterday still is not correct. The Food Lion developer has verbally assured me that
the changes have not been made only because of staff communication problems
within their organization. I therefore do not anticipate any serious problem in
correcting the plans, but would not want the city to be under the impression that the
submission is complete in its present form.
Sincerely,
Sandy Lake Comers Joint Venture, by its Manager
