Cansler CCM Engineering Corporation Suite 308 1120 Empire Central Place Dallas, TX 75247 RE: Riverview Estates Dear Mr. Cansler: Prior to filing a Final Plat with the County, you may seek approval of a name change by resubmitting the Final Plat to the City with the name changed. If you resubmit prior to March 19, we can get the issue before City Council on May 13th. If the plat is filed under the current Riverview Estates name, the City would not stop you from marketing and placing signage under a different name, although we strongly discourage taking that action. Mr. Huffines should bear in mind that all legal references will be under the name recorded at the County and that City records will show the subdivision under its recorded name. By marketing and placing signage under a different name, we believe that Mr. Huffines would risk exposure to liability in the event of increased emergency response time resulting from confusion over the name of the subdivision. Regarding the two names proposed in your February 26th letter, we currently have a Riverchase Estates subdivision and could not recommend The Estates at Riverchase to Council. Riverview at Riverchase could be proposed, but Staff would, in all likelihood, recommend against the change. Gary, The developer, Don Huffines, has ask me to check on the possibility of changing the name on the Final Plat prior to filing. We would like it to be change to The Estates at Riverchase or Riverview at Riverchase. If this requires a public hearing, what kind of time frame are we talking about? Also if the plat is filed the way it is, what stops us from marketing and placing signag¢ under a different name? Sincerely, Tommy N, Cansler CCM Engineering Corp,
