In late February lan Seidner of DART contacted the City Manager's office with a proposal that
would allow the DART crossing at Fairway Drive. Ken Griffin is evaluating the cost to the City
for providing this crossing, as well as other improvements that DART staff is suggesting be
made in order to obtain a positive recommendation of the DART Board.
Ken will be reviewing with the City Council the costs associated with the Fairway Drive
crossing at the March 11 City Council Meeting. It is my intent to provide a positive
recommendation to the City Council regarding the acceptance of the DART proposal, based on
my preliminary discussions with Ken. Of course the Council might feel otherwise, and could
ask staff to attempt to renegotiate the DART proposal.
I am sure that you will be in attendance at the Work Session on March 11, and convey to the
Planning and Zoning Commission the status of the Fairway Drive crossing at their March
meeting. If there is need for further information or details regarding the crossing, please contact
Ken or me, and we will provide you with whatever is necessary.
