Attached is a rod-marked copy of the revised landscape plan for the property at
the above location. Gary Sieb reviewed this on July 30, 2001 and made the
following comments, which I reviewed with Mike Billingsly this morning:
1. Need to add trees to all parking islands, per the Landscape Ordinance.
· There are carports being constructed in some of the islands. Mike said
they may be able to plant small trees in those islands.
2. Need to extend trees to the east along the south property line and provide
one tree on each side of the entrance at Fairway Drive.
· Mike thought that the land and at the south east corner of the property
was actually golf course land, but he will check on it. He also stated that
the north west corner of the intersection of Fairway and DART R.O.W.
was a drainage area and could not support a tree.
Gary originally requested that the trees along Fairway be clustered as shown on
the originally approved landscape plan, however, since they are already installed
on the west side of the street, it appeared reasonable to mirror that pattern on the
east side.
Mike will be contacting you so that you can review these issues on-site.
Let me know if you have any questions. I really appreciate your assistance with
this.

Marcie,
I have reviewed the revised plans submitted by Gold Landscape for this prOject, I also spoke with Aaron
Gold on the phone this week. At our request he has made (4) changes.
1) Put screening along the East side of property back, as it was on 1998 approved plan.
2) Replace the use of Bradford Pear trees with Aristocrat Pear trees.
3) Replace the use of Dwarf Wax Myrtle with Standard Wax Myrtle.
4) Replace the use of Lorapetalum with Red Barberry.
As I said to you in our phone conversation, my only real concern with this project was the removal of the
screening on the east side. Andrea and myself are in the process of adding both dwarf wax myrtle and
Iorapetalum to the city plant palette. I also know for a fact that they have planted a few Bradford Pear
trees on this site. Aaron Gold assured me he would go back and change those trees out. I assured Aaron
that I do know the difference between the two.
At this point I would recommend accepting the changes to the landscape plan.
Call me if you have any questions
Thank You

Remarks
As discussed on the telephone eadier today, the Landscape Plan that you presented
to John Elias and myself on Fdday, July 6, 2001 is not acceptable due to:
Lack of required landscaping (Nellie R. Stevens) and fence treatment along the
property lines adjacent to the golf course, as approved by City Council on the
1998 Landscape Plan.
· The use of Bradford Pear, which is not on the City's Plant Palette
· The use of Dwarf Wax Myrtle, which is not on the City's Plant Palette
· The use of Lorapetalum, which is also not on the City's Plant Palette.
As discussed, the Director of Planning has the authority to administratively approve
minor revisions to site plans and landscape plans. Major revisions, as indicted on the
Landscape Plan discussed on Fdday (revised 6/28/01), would be required to go
through the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council approval process,
unless revised in accordance with the City's Landscape Ordinance and reflect the
design elements of the 1998 approved landscape plan.
