TRANSPORTATION: Denton Tap Road is an improved six-lane divided highway (P6D) contained within a 100 foot right-of-way. DISCUSSION: On April 20, 1995, the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of a Special Use Permit for a restaurant on this property. That recommendation did not include approval of a monument sign on the property, because the site is not sufficiently wide to accommodate a monument meeting the requirements of the sign ordinance. The applicant therefore requested and received a variance of the sign ordinance requirements from City Council. In recommending approval of the preliminary plat last month, the Commission included a recommendation that the height of the monument sign be reduced. City Council will act on that recommendation November 14. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the Final Plat subject to any conditions imposed by City Council on November 14.
