Dear Sir or Madam:
My family and I have lived in Coppell for 11 years. We moved here because it was quiet
and with a slower pace and nobody knew where it was. That has all changed in the past few years
for the worst. The traffic, fast food restaurants everywhere, too many cleaners, pizza places and
video stores have all moved in; but NO, we can't stop there. When we read about "another"
grocery store coming to Coppell, we wanted to sell the house and move.
At an intersection that already has two grocery stores, I was so disappointed to hear that
Tom Thumb wanted another store in CoppeR. For a town of our size, isn't the choice of
Albertson's, l~anyards, Tom Thumb and soon to be Kroger, enough? And, to top it offwanted to
build on some prime land with lots of old trees. It takes a long time to build a nice, clean city with
some beauty in it. Trees allow us that beauty. I get so upset to see the earth in this town turned
upside down for a Taco Bell or bank, and know that many birds, squirrels and other habitat have
just been relocated to a smaller area to live.
I know many of you on the City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission have
lived here as long as we have. WE will be terribly disappointed to know that greed has taken over
the city instead of maintaining a community worth living in. Please consider the affect of this
de~ision on not today but all of our tomorrows. Copper was once a pretty town, your decision is
making a change for the worst. Think of your children and the town you are creating, not by
what is being put in your pockets. My sons, and your sons and daughters, will appreciate a nicer
place to live.
