Bluegrove Lancaster, TX 75146 Dear Bob: In response to your letter of March 24th, expressing concern regarding standing seam roofs you wish to include in your warehouse project in Coppell, please be advised that the'standing seam roofs will be allowed. Upon review of Chapter 9 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Coppell, Section 9-7-1-H states that the City Council can allow a variance to the standing seam roof requirements (in your case the provision which relates to the roof pitch). Because all representations made by you in both the Planning Commission public heating and the Council hearing included drawings, elevations, and photographs of your storage buildings, and none of those representations included any building with the normally required 5:12 pitch, it was clear that you were proposing flat standing seam roofs. Because I presented your case before both of these bodies, and recalling that no concern was expressed before either regarding the roof system you were proposing, I have advised our Building Official, Greg Jones, that your intentions to build standing seam roofs with minimal pitch was understood by the Council and your proposal was approved with that roof design in mind. Therefore, Greg will issue a building permit for the proposed roof system. I am sorry if this misunderstanding has caused you delay in embarking upon this project, and I will endeavor to resolve any future conflicts to our mutual satisfaction. 's truly, ~y~I~Director of Planni'n~'e&' Community Services cc: Greg Jones T. Bowman, zoning file
