RE: Material Coordination for All Care Veterinary Hospital and Walgreen's
Dear Gregg:
The architect for Walgreen's sent me a brick sample which I dropped off at your office
Wednesday. He is specifying Acme Orchid from their Denton plant. As you can see, it is
much lighter than the brick at Overton Bank.
Both bricks are in what we consider to be an earth-tone range. Personally, I like to see stand-
alone buildings in close proximity use the same materials. City Garage, Sunbelt Self-Storage
and the Sonic on MacArthur Boulevard just north of Belt Line Road are examples of how
independently owned projects can be coordinated architecturally through the use of the same
brick on each building. I was surprised that the Town Center Architectural Review Board did
not specify a brick selection when it reviewed your project and Walgreen's.
If you are agreeable to using the Acme Orchid, please let me know. Otherwise, please tell me
specifically what brick you are choosing, and I will talk to the architect for Walgreen's about
their using the same.
Sincerely,
Pert Virtanen
