Willowood P2/PP-CS 780627COPPELL CITY COUNCIL 6/27/78
I would like for you as Council Members to discuss the following questions
in open session before passing on the final plat proposal of Fox & Jacobs.
I feel this is of interest and importance to all citizens of Coppell.
How many police officers will be added to the force? How
many police cars will need to be purchased?
Z®
How many firemen will be added and what additional equipment
will be purchased7
What will be the estimated increase in taxes to cover the cost
of the additional police and fire pr,tection.
How much will school taxes be increased to maintain the
quality of education and the current student/teacher ratio
in both the elementary and upper school levels? Also, what
will be the cost to the community for additional school buildings2
At present, the telephone service is inadequate and costly in
comparison to Southwestern Bell. What is being done to improve
the service and will General Telephone really have enough lines
for service when additional houses are built ? Will phone rates
increase with added customers in Coppell7
Is the service'provided by Lone Star Gas and Texas Power &
Light adequate to meet the projected development2
Will water and sewer service be ready to accommodate the fast
rate of development which the City Council has favored? What
portion of the cost of this increased service will be assumed by
present citizens ?
Answers to the above questions are of extreme import ance to the citizens
of Coppell. We want to continue to live in a city that is safe for us and
our children. We want a community that is not plagued with the problems
that Carrollton, Piano and Irving are experiencing.
