I would ask that you have your engineer show the monument sign in the desired location, indicating how far from the property line it will be placed. Also, I would recommend that you also provide a plan showing the monument sign in an alternative location, if the Board of Adjustment does not approve your variance request. These revised drawings should be e-mailed to me to place in Staff's Presentation to City Council. Additionally, you had asked about modifying the sign to provide signage for the property behind yours. This is not something that staff could support, for a number of reasons. If another company wished to place information on your signage, it would be considered an off-site sign and is not permitted by the Zoning Ordinance, unless we make the Sherrill Acres subdivision a Planned Development, which is another public hearing process. Also, we don't know at this time what might be located behind your property and when, if ever, it might be developed. I hope rye answered some of your questions and provided some guidance as to the signage information. Also, if you do wish to pursue the placement of the existing sign on your building, I need that information by the end of the week as well. When you get a chance, I would encourage you to contact Greg Jones, who is the City's Building Official, and staff's the Board of Adjustment.
