Re: Case No. S-1006R2, Anna's Mexican Restaurant
City Council Members,
My name is Danielle Christensen and I am a new homeowner in Coppcll. I
moved here specifically because of Coppell's wonderful community atmosphere. Of all
the communities in Dallas Ft. Worth, it appeared to me that Coppell had stuck a very nice
balance between industrial and residential needs. My family from out of state was
extremely impressed with the city's planning and referred to Coppell as a "Pleasantville."
I think what sets Coppell apart from the rest of the metroplex is its emphasis on quality of
life. While it doesn't have everything, what is does have attracts citizens who value
family, environment, aesthetic and peaceful surroundings, ownership, health, and civic
involvement.
For these reasons, I am writing to express my concern about Case No. S-1006R2,
Anna's Mexican Restaurant. Perhaps I am wrongly concerned because I do not have all
the details. I realize that opening private clubs in existing restaurants is usually to gain
liquor licenses in dry areas. I realize that other nearby restaurants do serve alcohol. I am
not trying to single out Anna's, but this occasion does let me express my concern on the
whole. Coppell should do everything it can to preserve its wonderful, distinctive flavor.
We can shape, protect and build our community by the things we encourage and by the
things we discourage. Yes, we may lose some types of business. That is unfortunate.
However, by lacking some things we gain other things like security, peacefulness, and a
low crime rate. These are the things that make Coppell a great place to live and do
business, made evident in its local economy.
Thank-you,
Danielle Christensen
