RE: Carport Variance Request
Dear Ms. Slaughter:
The revised site plan for the carport construction was submitted to the Building
Inspections Department by Lee Beck on March 16, 2003. As we have discussed,
due to the existing zoning on your property (PD 145) and the need for a variance
to the required rear yard setback requirement, a 60 day public hearing process is
required. The variance process established within Ordinance No. 91500-A-104
(adopted October 8, 1996) outlines the specific provisions regarding the
construction of storage buildings, carports and garages for this and the
surrounding properties. The deficiencies of the submittal was as follows:
· Application;
· Check;
· Tuming radii dimensions;
· Carport ceiling plans, showing materials and finishes;
· Roofing material;
· Materials and color specifications including eave and gable trim, gutters and
downspouts;
· Adjacent fence, landscaping and other obstructions to visibility; and,
· Total height dimension
Please include the previously submitted items with the above additions at the
next Pre-Application Meeting on April 19, 2004, in the Planning Department. At
that time, we will review the package, and advise as to what additional
information and number of copies (12) are needed for the filing deadline on April
21, 2004. The Site Plan Application, the Filing Fee Schedule and the Schedule
of the 60 day process are attached. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to
