Memo re roofing materialPage 1 of 1 Matt Steer - Hard Eight Roof From: To: Date: Subject: "MARK & ANDREA ROY" <am roy@msn.com> "msteer" < msteer@ci.coppell.tx.us> 7/25/2005 1:55 PM Hard Eight Roof Matt: OK, ! had a long talk with Fred about the roof and I'll try to "articdlate" what he said. Basically, he didn't speciff on the elevations exactly what type of rpof it would be, which left it open to be either standing seam or corrugated. He understood our assumption that it was standing seam, because that is the standard these days. Professionally, he recom~nends the standing seam metal, just for the look (which hides the screws, etc.), but said that the corrugated and standing seam will wear the same-so, there is no difference in the wear and tear. He did confirm that the cost for standing seam is going to run approx. 50% more than the corrugated metal. So, cost is a true concern. He also said that the proposed color of the roof (the galvanized or silver look) is in our favor, because the screws and the roof will match and you really won't be able tosee them because of sun reflection. ! asked him if there was a compromise between the tv4o roof types, like a "faux standing seam" and he said there was. He called it a "5 V Crimp" or a "V Crimp", which he said looks similar to the standing seam, with the seams just not as pronounced, but more cost effective. This option may work. Let me know you're thoughts. Have a good one-Andrea file://C:\TEMP\GW} 00001 .HTM 7/25/2005
