RE: ARK Church Special Use Permit
Dear Mr. Martinez:
Thank you for meeting with Matt Steer and me yesterday as we discussed the direction City
Council asked us to take regarding the above-referenced Special Use Permit application.
To review, Council approved the SUP with a provision that "up to 27 parking spaces be provided
on site."
In our meeting, we showed you a concept that provides 27 parking spaces, minimizes the amount
of additional concrete paving, maintains one access drive to the property and respects the
approved setback and open space requirements of the zoning ordinance.
We have shown you a means by which the 27 parking spaces can be located on site utilizing the
proposed driveway on Holly Street, and still provide required screening and landscaping. This
solution also minimizes disruption to the neighborhood. The parking suggested is known as
"tandem parking" and was the direction staff was asked to pursue by Council.
We appreciate your interest in this solution and trust you will convey this recommendation to
your client, make the necessary alterations to the site plan and continue with the development
process.
