Project: Senior Recreation / Community Center
City of Coppell
Project No.: 0602
Subject: Required Parking vs. Parking Provided
City ofCoppell Zoning Ordinance, Section 12-31-6 Parking Requirements Based on Use:
Nearest Uses for a Senior Recreation / Community Center:
#6 - Community Center: 10 spaces plus one additional space for each 300 SF > 2000 SF
#26 - Private Club or Country Club: One space per 150 SF
Since this use is really a blend of a Community Center and in practice something like a Country
Club, we used the average of these two requirements; thus, one space per 225 SF.
The Multipurpose Room's use matches:
#8 - Assembly or Exhibition Hall without fixed seats: One space per 100 SF
Multipurpose Room = 3,381 SF
Remainder of Building = 10,179 SF
Total Building Area = 13,560 SF
Multipurpose Room 3,381 / 100 = 34 spaces
Remainder of Bulding 10,179 / 225 = 45 spaces
TOTAL REQUIRED PARKING = 79 SPACES
PARKING PROVIDED = 79 SPACES
