RE: S-1033R6-SF-12, Vista (Coppell Classical) Academy
Dear Mr. Barton:
This letter is to inform you that, a zone change request from S-1033R5-SF-12 (Special Use Permit-
1033 Revision 5-Single Family-12) to S-1033R6-SF-12 (Special Use Permit-1033 Revision 6-
Single Family-12), to approve a revised site and landscape plan, the extension of the fire lane, and
the addition of 46 parking spaces, to Coppell Classical Academy, located at 140 S. Heartz Road,
was recommended for approval by the Planning & Zoning Commission (6-0) on March 21, 2019,
subject to the following conditions:
1. There may additional comments generated during detail engineering review.
2. This charter school shall be licensed and maintained in accordance with state law and may
provide instruction for Kindergarten through eight (8th) grade.
3. The student enrollment capacity under this Special Use Permit shall not exceed five
hundred (500) students.
4. All landscaping shall be maintained in a healthy and growing condition as is appropriate
for the season of the year. Plant materials which die shall be replaced. This shall include
mowing, edging, pruning, fertilizing, watering, weeding, and other such activities common
to the maintenance of landscaping.
5. All fencing shall be reviewed for compliance and be maintained in good condition.
Please revise the plans to reflect the above conditions 2, 3, 4 and 5, a revised Landscape Plan which
repositions the trees on the southern portion of the lot, and a note added to the Site Plan sheet
stating that the gate along London Way will be locked and used for emergency access only. City
Council has instructed staff to include in its agenda packets only those items that accurately reflect
the conditions as recommended by the Planning & Zoning Commission. Therefore, please submit
to the Planning Department two (2) 24”x36” copies of the revised plans reflecting the above-stated
conditions on or before 12 noon, Wednesday, March 27, 2019. Also, please submit one (1)
11”x17” paper reduction, along with a PDF electronic file.
The date scheduled for consideration by Coppell City Council is Tuesday April 9, 2019, at 7:30
p.m. A representative for this case must be present at this meeting, which will be held in Council
Chambers at City Hall. Failure to represent this item may result in the denial of this application.
