Subject:Re: 412 W Bethel Proposal
I put out an email to the board of the Historical Society and no one had any questions or comments. I think everyone is
fine with the renovations. Part of the reason is that the changes are largely in the back and and the building itself, in my
opinion, really wasn’t “historic” and is rather typical of so many of the buildings identified in that resource survey. But,
anyway, I think the Society is fine with the zoning.

Pete,
I hope this email finds you well. It has been some time since we’ve reached out to the historical society
for a zoning case.
This one is on 412 W Bethel in the RVIS Office building across from the Kirkland House. They are looking
to do a expansion to the rear and are listed in the Historic Resource Survey. They are scheduled for the
Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting on June 18th. I have attached the Site Plan and the Elevations
for your reference. I think they have done a fine job in respecting the historic nature of the
building. They are matching the architecture and adding on the rear following the design guidelines for
the district. Please let me know if you have any comments.
Thanks,
Matt
