Response 21 Matt Steer From:Gabriela Anene <gabrielaanene@gmail.com> Sent:Tuesday, March 9, 2021 5:15 PM To:CITYSEC Subject:Opposition to zoning change To whom it may concern, As a resident of Coppell, for more than 10 years, we have seen our fair share of businesses closing. Along with the challenges this year has brought, our community is committed to supporting and preventing another business from closing its doors. With the proposal of a potential Smoothie King opening in our city, we are driving business away from a current, well-respected business establishment in Smoothie Factory. The current owners of Smoothie Factory have been supportive of its community in return; from partnerships with local gyms, donations to schools, giving back with reward programs, etc. From a business standpoint, I understand the idea of providing options to patrons and allowing for competitive markets in our community; however, adding in yet another similar business in close proximity can have its disadvantages. Why sacrifice a current business in our community for another? Our town has suffered enough closures, long before Covid, i.e. similar businesses & restaurants, let’s not do the same to Smoothie Factory. Please consider our opposition in approving the opening of Smoothie King. Best, Gaby Coppell Resident Sent from my iPhone, please excuse any brevity or typos.
