Dear Mr. Durrett:
Thank you for stopping by today. The subject of the monument sign was on my mind, since
I had recently been looking at the drawings submitted with Taco Bell's Special Use Permit
application in connection with a general review of sign standards the City currently is
undertaking. However, after talking with you, I retrieved the file and found that City Council
did not approve the drawing the applicant submitted. Council authorized a sign not to exceed
the space within a rectangle of 60 square feet, including its brick base, with a maximum height
of 8 feet including the brick base. The sign cannot be located nearer than 72.5 feet to a side
property line.
The letter of May 10, 1995, which details all the conditions of the permit follows. This should
clear up any misleading information I may have mistakenly given you. I apologize for that. My
only excuse is that I do not ordinarily present zoning action before the City Council, so was not
fully aware of what had taken place on May 9.
Sincerely,
Pert Virtanen
Assistant Director of Planning and Community Services
