Memo re admin. changes to plan MEMORANDUM
TO: Greg Jones, Building Official
FROM:~ Gary L. Sieb, Director
SUBJECT: White Glove Car Wash Addition
DATE: November 14, 1997
Jonesie, do ya' think I'm crazy? You want me to offer advice on the White Glove? The last
time I did that you ignored me royally!
However, in the spirit of "cooperation" and forgiving you for doubting my earlier suggestions
for approving some slight modifications to the plan, let me suggest the following:
-the color of the gutter needs to be closely matched with the color of the brick, which means the
white gutter shown on the plan is not appropriate. Since the brick color is reddish brown, the
gutter needs to closely match that color.
-the original elevation showed solid bay doors with no glass--the plan-check set shows a row of
glass in each overhead door. In my estimation this is a minor alteration to the approved plan,
and should be approved with the glass as revised.
-although I still believe my original comments relative to an all brick vs. a glass or brick and
glass wall facing Denton Tap Road makes for a more aesthetic appearance along this Primary
Image Zone, the elevation shown on the plan-check set is certainly more appealing than the
drawing submitted during the hearing process. I would suggest you approve the revised
proposal.
I believe these comments address your concerns relative to this development. I have had a
discussion with the applicant (Lenny Poulson) and he agrees with the statements made above,
particularly as they relate to the color of the gutter. If you need additional information or
clarification, please contact me at your convenience.
