Staff response to inquiry-SUP Coppell, Texas 75019 The City With A Beautiful Future 972-462-0022 P.O. BOX 478 COPPELL, TEXAS 75019 Mr. Richard Pilone 801 Howell Drive Coppell, TX 75019 September 9, 1997 Dear Mr. Pilone: Thank you for your letter dated September 4, 1997 sent to Mr. Gary Sieb, Director of Planning and Community Development. As staff contact for the Artisan Landscaping zoning case, Mr. Sieb asked me to address your concern with regards to length of time Mr. Sandleback has to comply to the conditions imposed by City Council on the special use permit. Section 30-2-5 of the zoning ordinance states "a building permit shall be applied for and secured within six (6) months from the time of granting the special use permit provided; however, the City Council may authorize an extension of this time upon recommendation by the Planning and Zoning Commission". Therefore, Mr. Sandleback has until February 12, 1998 to obtain a building permit, and another 180 days after which he secures a building permit to act upon the conditions placed on his special use permit. If there are any other concerns which I might address with regards to this case, please do not hesitate to call me at (972) 304-3677. Isabelle Moro, AICP Planning and Zoning Coordinator cc: Gary Sieb, Director of Planning and Community Services Richard Pilone 801 Howell Drive Coppell, Texas 75019 (972)462-8689 September 2, 1997 Mr. Gary Sieb Planning & Zoning Director City of Copell RE: Case #s-1129R Artisan Landscape Company Dear Gary: On August 12, 1997, with much controversy, the City Council, granted Artisan Landscape, a conditional S.U.P. As of this ~xiting, none of the physical conditions attached to Artisan Landscape's S.U.P., have been met. Let me remind you,, several of my neighbors and myself, were and still are against this type of open storage operation doing business in our neighborhood. Let me review the physical conditions that were attached to the granting of Artisan's S.U.P.: 1. 5 parking spaces established with one being that for the handicapped 2. Concreting the alley and removal of crashed rock now used as a driveway 3. A new 8 foot treated wood fence and gates around the business 4. Shrubs and trees to be planted on the property. I quote Mr. Sandelback, the owner: "I want to make my business a show place in Coppell." 5. Repainting of the wood trim on the building (black and gray) My question to you is: In what time frame will this get done? I will be waiting for your reply. I need all responses to be in writing. Many thanks. c/c Candy Sheehan, Mayor Marsha Tunnell, Mayor Pro Tem Chuck Sturges, City Councilman
